For the most part, we keep our eyes on the future. By staying ahead of the biggest trends, we keep Makeover Essentials on the cutting edge of the beauty industry. Now that the year is drawing to a close, however, it’s fitting to reflect on the people and styles that made the biggest impact in 2017. These were a few of the heaviest hitters:
• Breakthrough Designers: Many new designers found their footing throughout the past year. Their brands include Magda Butrym, Gabriela Hearst, Attico, Reiina Pyo, A.W.A.K.E., Ganni, and Jacquemus.
• Brands With Staying Power: Of course, there are some fashion mainstays. Makeover Essentials favorites include Gucci, Balenciaga, and Off-White. These brands have the type of longevity that is sure to extend into 2018 and beyond.
• Big-Ticket Items: We’ve noted some impressive sell-out rates as well. Gucci’s logo tee continues to make a splash, for instance. The wrap dress made big waves, as did bags like Chloe’s Nile. Shoes in velvet and satin were notably popular too.
• Greatest Transformations: There is more diversity than ever in the world of fashion, and it’s quite refreshing! There are great looks coming from Budapest, Japan, Sweden, and more. What’s more, it seems as if the year’s largest trend is the anti-trend. Style is beautifully customized by the individual.
