New York Fashion Week From a Front-Row Perspective

As far as Makeover Essentials is concerned, attending New York Fashion Week is always exciting. The chance to observe the action from the front row is another experience entirely. Laura Brown is one of the lucky few to land such as spot. We’re thrilled that InStyle magazines’ editor-in-chief is willing to discuss it.

The Sydney native has spent a decade and a half in New York, becoming a reputed figure in the world of fashion. That means in addition to attending the actual fashion shows – and taking advantage of backstage access – she enjoys designers’ dinners and other gatherings. Our Makeover Essentials beauty experts can’t help but feel a bit envious!

Every step of the way, Brown rubs elbows with some of the biggest names in fashion. There’s the editor of Vogue Arabia, Deena Aljuhani Abjulaziz. There’s also the founder of skin care brand Glossier, Emily Weiss. Brown has even met with the likes of actress Shay Mitchell, former Miss USA Olivia Culpo, and former Ralph Lauren head of communications Malcolm Carfrae.

Laura Brown’s job is to schmooze with the best in the business. Clearly, she does it well. Whether meeting up-and-comers or paying her respects to established designers, she’s always growing her knowledge base and seeking new content for her magazine.
